Welcome!

As the administrators of CollegeSuccessLife Experience Facebook group, we believe that for students, nothing highlights truth better than experience.

Our particular expertise lies within the fields of higher education administration, academic/career advising, and student support services.

And our passion is sharing “insider” information with students, keeping them informed of their options as they pursue their college and career goals.

In doing so, it’s important to share diverse individual experiences.

Sharing these experiences can produce potential options, choices and opportunities for these future leaders to consider.

That said, if you’re planning to join our team, then we expect you to highlight your memorable collegiate experiences.

Share how you handled academic and social challenges, and articulate the pathways that lead you to your current career, profession, and/or occupation.

OUR STUDENTS NEED YOUR VOICE!

Once these students enter the hallowed halls of ivy, they often find themselves totally overwhelmed by the expectations, rules, and regulations of their new environment.

Explicit information on how to succeed in college is readily available.

However, it’s the tacit, the personal, the experiential information that can make all the difference in terms of students achieving their goals.

Those who hail from first generation families are particularly vulnerable.

Even college students from second/third generation degree families often miss the boat in terms of having access to the best information for decision making.

Higher education administration, like any other business or industry, is a convoluted and consumer information challenged environment.

And academic advising student to advisor caseload ratios can range anywhere from 1-200 up to 1-600, depending on the size of the campus community.

COLLEGESUCCESSLIFE Experience… IT TAKES A TEAM

So, as it takes a team to win a championship, it takes one to ensure graduation and career success.

Diverse stories are often helpful to folks who need to make an informed decision.

And your story may be just what struggling students need to know in order to move forward strategically with making their best decision.

Remember, our focus is college and career success.

Your collegiate/post secondary experiences are essential to the success of our community.

Unlike the website Quora, we’re not casting a wide, universal net for comments or questions.

A Word to the Wise...

An Academic Pearl of Wisdom

Whenever a college student faces an academic and/or social challenge, they often ask a peer or a friend first for advice.

And that’s okay.

However, resolving the issue to your best advantage often requires consulting with an academic advising professional as well.

Your academic adviser knows the campus academically, administratively, and socially.

And what they don’t know, they can point you to the person who does know. Include this strategy in your current plan for college success.

And we're always available to help as well!

Academic Advising

Disclaimer Reminder: A college student's first line of inquiry should always be with their campus academic adviser. College Success Life Advising/Coaching Sessions provides additional problem-solving options to undergraduate and graduate students for further exploration on their individual campuses. Students should always consult their assigned adviser not only during the course selection process but periodically to keep apprised of programmatic changes, testing requirements, course additions/deletions, GPA modifications, etc.
